We've all heard of the "Ice Bucket Challenge" where an individual(s) takes a bucket of ice cold water and dumps it over their head or someone else's, then challenge other people to do the same and maybe post it on social media.
Most people are not aware that slavery had its own "Ice Bucket Challenge". They called it the "Water Torture". Similar to an older article I wrote over a month ago, which was about "Buck Breaking", the "Water Torture" was used on Black males to force them to be obedient to the slave master as a punishment.
The Black male would sit in a chair device, while strapped in and have freezing cold water poured on him, usually from a big bucket or container. The same practice was done in the prisons as well but a bit worse. In some prisons, they would use multiple barrels of ice cold water, being poured on you one after another. In most cases, it would lead to hypothermia and death.
