When I was about 6 or 7, I was watching a documentary about the invasion and saw this scene.
In this picture the soldier to the left most part, who has just stepped out of the water, of the screen is shot seconds after this scene.
It frightened me to see it, some one or thing told me that this was me in a previous life. Not THIS particular soldier, but one like him.
I’ve seen this many times since then and it always resonates with me.
Other soldiers dying, while sad, doesn’t have the same effect as this image does.
As I said, I can’t verify it, but in my soul I am convinced. My fascination with movies from the 1930s seems to bear this out.
Most everyone thinks I’m odd that I have these feelings, so it’s nice to have a place to freely express this.
