  Woman arrested after burning her young ward's private part with hot water (graphic photos) A middle-aged woman who poured hot water on the private part of a little girl living with her in the Ishasi area of Lagos state has been arrested by the police command for assault.   An IG user, with the handle @_ejembi, reached out to police officer @Opetodolapo and the official handle of Lagos state domestic and Violence team   The lady popularly called mummy Onyi who leaves at Iyana Ishashi, Lagos poured the hot water on the little girl's private part and kept her inside her house for days, attempting to treat the wound and cover up her evil act.   The little girl was rescued and is currently receiving treatment at the state general hospital.   The eagle eye of the neighbour caught up with the woman's activity which made them anonymously report to @opetodolapo and @DSVRT.   The woman, who has been on the run, was ar...

  Joseph Spooner - The sad case of the murder of his daughter. 42 year old Joseph Spooner was married to Catherine from whom he separated in December 1913.  The couple had six children and Catherine got custody of them.  However, they were a serious financial burden and so Catherine summoned her husband for child support in January 1914.   She was awarded 12 shillings (60p) a week, but Spooner had only paid her six shillings by the end of February, so she went back to court again to get the arrears. They were shipped by the hundreds of thousands, men, women and even the youngest of children. Whenever they rebelled or even disobeyed an order, they were punished in the harshest ways. Slave owners would hang their human property by their hands and set their hands or feet on fire as one form of punishment. Some were burned alive then had their heads placed on pikes in the marketplace as a warning to other captives. We don’t really need to go through all of the gory details, do we?   A light-fingered teenager has found himself beaten and stripped naked after he was caught stealing chickens. Rather than call the police, locals in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria, dished out their own brand of instant 'justice'. After he was seized by the chickens' owner, the suspect was beaten senseless. Disturbing images of the boy show him with a swollen and bloodied left eye. Public justice is a common form of punishment in Nigeria where locals can be suspicious of police or official involvement. Officials are often seen as corrupt and easily bribed and ordinary people prefer street level self-administered justice. The man's name was not revealed and it is unclear if he was handed over to the police after the mob had finished with him.
